Woman, daughter murdered in Canada

Peel police have released the identities of the victims stabbed to death inside their Brampton home on Friday night.

Baljit Thandi, 32, and her mother, Avtar Kaur, 60, were found dead at 100 Starhill Crescent, near Sandalwood Parkway and Dixie Road in Brampton.

Police say the incident took place on Friday night (Jan. 12) at roughly 10:45 p.m.

Dalwinder Singh, 29, was found inside the home at the time of the fatal stabbings and was arrested by police. He has since been charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

Singh was the husband of Thandi.

Peel police constable Rachel Gibbs said there was a child in the home at the time of the stabbing. She could not confirm the age or sex of the child. However, the child has been put in the care of the Children’s Aid Society.
